In its resolution 61/14, the Human Rights Council decided to extend the mandate of Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression, for a period of three years, and requested the Special Rapporteur to submit an annual report to the Council covering all activities relating to the mandate. The Council will consider the reports of the mandate holder, Irene Khan, during an interactive dialogue

In its resolution 53/4, the Human Rights Council decided to extend the mandate of Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, for three years, and requested the Special Rapporteur, in carrying out the mandate, to continue to examine situations of extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, in all circumstances and for whatever reason, and to submit the findings to the Council on an annual basis, together with conclusions and recommendations.
