In its resolution 61/1, the Human Rights Council requested the High Commissioner to provide an oral update at its sixty-second session on the human rights consequences resulting from the unprovoked attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran against Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. The Council will hear the oral update by the High Commissioner.

In its resolution 60/3, the Human Rights Council decided to extend the mandate of the independent international fact-finding mission for the Sudan, for a period of one year, and requested the fact-finding mission to provide an oral update on its work to the Council at its sixty-second session, to be followed by an enhanced interactive dialogue. The Council will hear the oral update by the fact-finding mission during an enhanced interactive dialogue.

For all interactive dialogues, the online inscription for the lists of speakers for States opens on Tuesday, 9 June at 2 p.m. and will close 2 hours before the meeting in which the respective debate is scheduled to start.

NHRIs and NGOS are also requested to inscribe online. For additional information on modalities and deadlines: https://www.ohchr.org/en/hr-bodies/hrc/ngo-nhri-info

Speaking time is 1.5 minutes for all.

Item 2: ID with COI on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem and in Israel

In its resolution S-30/1, the Human Rights Council decided to establish an ongoing independent, international commission of inquiry to investigate in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and in Israel all alleged violations of international humanitarian law and all alleged violations and abuses of international human rights law leading up to and since 13 April 2021 and all underlying root causes of recurrent tensions, instability and protraction of conflict, including systematic discrimination and repression based on national, ethnic, racial or religious identity. In the same resolution, the Council requested the Commission of Inquiry to report on its main activities on an annual basis.

The Council will consider the report of the Independent International Commission of Inquiry during an interactive dialogue.
