In its resolution S-37/1, the Human Rights Council decided to establish an independent commission of inquiry on the situation of human rights in North Kivu and South Kivu Provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and requested the independent commission of inquiry to present an oral update on its activities at the sixty-first session of the Council, to be followed by an enhanced interactive dialogue. In its resolution 60/22, the Council decided to hold the interactive dialogue on the oral update of the independent commission of inquiry at its sixty-second session. The Council will hear the oral update by the independent commission of inquiry during an enhanced interactive dialogue. For all interactive dialogues, the online inscription for the lists of speakers for States opens on Tuesday, 9 June at 2 p.m. and will close 2 hours before the meeting in which the respective debate is scheduled to start.
